Sheridan Elementary includes a full Special Education/Learning Disability staff.  We have an LD teacher, speech therapists, a staff school psychologist, a staff social worker, a staff school nurse and a staff occupational therapist to help students with academic, speech/language, behavioral/psychological, social/emotional and/or fine motor disabilities, respectively.

Sheridan Elementary special education team members are all knowledgeable and experienced in their area of expertise. The team members are trained to work with all special needs students.

Sheridan is proud to announce that it will be using a collaboration model to service students with special needs. This means that there would be better communication between the regular education teachers and the special education teachers to meet the needs of the special education students so all the students will be successful in their learning environment.

To receive Special Education services, a student must first qualify. This is based off of the criteria from the State. If they are eligible for the program then they would receive above-mentioned special education services.

Farah Khosravani is the Special Education teacher at Sheridan Elementary School.  She has taught for 16 years, and she has had experience working with various disabled students.  Her schedule can be found in the contact information section of the website.
