 | | Volunteer Karman Williams listens as her grandson reads to her. | Sheridan Elementary is lucky to have many active community volunteers who give time to our school. Volunteers assist with office work, one-on-one student tutoring, field trip supervision, cooperative instruction and other jobs. Volunteers generally help out at Sheridan to give back to the community, to assist friends or family who work at or attend Sheridan, or to gain volunteer hours for projects. We are very happy to accept help from anyone who would like to contribute.

"For instance, there is a big change in the reading ability of the first grader between this week [March 23-28] and two months ago." Riddle-Ford also likes the community feeling at Sheridan. "When I come, I feel welcomed even though I am only able to help out when I have breaks from school."
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our office before hand. We reserve the right to turn down volunteer requests, but in most cases, we are happy to match helpers with specific jobs, such as  | | High school student Stephanie Zitur ties a shoe on a field trip. | reading, working in the library, helping out in the gym, etc, but we need to make arrangements with teachers to insure there is a place for volunteers on specific days. The Sheridan Elementary's school office can be reached at (651) 293-8745. Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Calls made during school breaks will be answered by the school message service.
