Noted education expert Joe Nathan and others have pointed out that a good way to assess the mood and quality of a school is to look at student work on display there.  And while an actual visit to Sheridan Elementary is a much better way to get a feel for us than any website, we agree that student work is one of the natural products of the educational process and a good way to assess the quality of our teaching.  Therefore, Sheridan Elementary is proud to include this new section to our website which features student work.  Click on the link text below to see work samples.

Note: All work on display herein is the property of its creators, the students of Sheridan Elementary.  No work may be copied or used without the consent of the student and their parent or guardian.

Sample of Faith's "My frog" booklet.
Click on the title above to see a sample of kindergartner Faith's project, "My Frog" In this assignment, students were asked to write a story about animals or pets, and include drawings. Faith's work is wonderful, especially her pictures of her frog sitting at the beech on a towel as well as her vivid descriptions of her pet.

Sample of Troy's "When I was Little" project
The click on the title above to see a sample of forth grader Troy's project, "When I Was Young."  In this project, students were asked to write statements contrasting their interests and abilities now with their interests and abilities when then were younger, draw pictures, and make the pages into a book.  We are very proud of Troy's clever work.  Note- click on the images to see them at full size.  It will take a while for the full images to download on dialup modems.
